There are various ways to how a website is created, where it is hosted and admin interfaces. Ideally your chosen website designer will be sure to suggest a system that will work best for you.
As a designer, I can tell you that one of the most important thing is using a trusted website platform that leaves customers happy instead of frustrated. A website system needs to be fast, secure, flexible, monitored 24/7 and easy for clients to use, if needed.
Since a majority of my clients typically require similar functions from their sites, I made sure to research and test the latest various website platforms available. Which is also how I came to offering the platform I do. The tech company that engineered and developed my platform has been around over 10 years, consistently shown to not only have a great website system but also always monitoring and improving functions and interactions within the admin and backend.
Sure, I still feel Wordpress is a generally a good platform, but I am not a fan of all the hidden cost and challenges. Things such as the interface, speed, security hiccups, hidden costs and ongoing backups, updates and monitoring involved. All of which adds to working hours, costs and compatibility issues. But if a client rather not take my recommendation and prefers to go with WordPress, that's okay two. However, I strongly recommend all WordPress sites to be hosted with a preferred hosting provider that specializes in WordPress sites.

55,131 plugins available, each of which offers custom functions and features enabling users to tailor their sites to their specific needs. However, this does not include the premium plugins

Vulnerabilities
Many security issues[90] have been uncovered in the software, particularly in 2007, 2008, and 2015. According to Secunia, WordPress in April 2009 had seven unpatched security advisories (out of 32 total), with a maximum rating of "Less Critical". Secunia maintains an up-to-date list of WordPress vulnerabilities.
As of
WordPress 5.2, the minimum PHP version requirement is PHP 5.6, which was released on August 28, 2014, and which has been unsupported by the PHP Group and not received any security patches since December 31, 2018.
